2025.12.0905:45:07UTC+00Netherlands November Inflation Confirmed at 2.9%

In November 2025, the Netherlands experienced a decrease in its annual inflation rate to 2.9%, aligning with preliminary estimates and showing a reduction from the 3.1% recorded in October. This represents the lowest inflation rate in three months, largely attributed to a significant deceleration in the inflation of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which fell to 3.4% from 4.3% in October, as well as transportation costs, which reduced to 1.8% from 3.5%. Additionally, there was a slowdown in price growth in sectors such as housing and utilities, which dipped to 4.1% from 4.3%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, going down to 2% from 2.2%, and recreation and culture, which decreased to 2.6% from 3.1%. However, inflation increased in other areas such as clothing and shoes, which rose to 0.6% from 0.1%, restaurants and hotels, climbing to 4.4% from 3.9%, and miscellaneous goods and services, which increased to 4.8% from 4.5%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices fell by 0.8%, marking the largest drop since November 2023, after having risen by 0.3% in October. On a broader scale, the harmonized consumer price index (HICP), which omits housing costs and is used for comparison across the EU, increased 2.6% year-on-year, a decrease from 3% in October.
